About Us

Our Kennels

Walter and Meri Black, the owners of Foxglove kennels and cattery have kept, bred and shown animals all their lives, qualifying their dogs for Crufts and showing their other animals with great success at national levels. All their own animals on the smallholding and of course the family pets, Fae and Jauntie two Lancashire Heelers a native breed of dog on the critical list being few and far between, Sky the heinz fifty seven Lurcher and not forgetting Posy the cat are much loved and looked after carefully. They aim to set the same standards with pets who are boarded with them giving the owners a real feeling of security and a sense of happy well being. Exercise, free play, a good diet and a stimulating environment are key to an animals welfare and at Foxglove all these can be found tailored to your individual pets needs.

Foxglove Kennels and Cattery is set in a secluded valley next to the glorious Flaxley woods. The boarding units are set into the hillside to get full benefit of sun and fresh air. The units are all designed to provide comfort and security, and all have heating units so winter time stays are just as nice as summer time ones. We are proud of our cat accommodation with each unit having panoramic views to keep your cat entertained during his or her stay. Our kennels range from singles to shared units and all benefit from individual covered run areas plus we have a securely fenced 'play' paddock, and we are in the middle of constructing a woodland exercise area for dogs. We have three acres of our own land for on lead walks and access to lovely forestry walks so we are never boring.

We are delighted to announce at long last our doggy playing field is ready, secure access pen, owners shelter with seating. 3/4 acre of gently sloping paddock. Jumps and toys available for use. Available for sole use or group hire.
